Eu External Trade Agreements
Since the early 1990s, the European Free Trade Association has established an extensive network of free trade contractual relationships around the world. The objective of EFTA`s third country policy is to safeguard the economic interests of its Member States, to support and strengthen the process of European and interregional integration and to contribute to global efforts to liberalise trade and investment. The Government`s March 7 update, which detailed 158 international agreements in different policy areas it covers, showed that commitment to the agreements continues in a wide range of areas. These include customs cooperation, fisheries, biological equivalence, justice and home affairs and wider political cooperation.
